Guido Van Rossum was born on January 31, 1956 in the Netherlands. He graduated in 1981 with a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Amsterdam. He created the programming language Python and launched it on February 20, 1991. Python became one of the most used and well known programming languages in the world. Even large companies, like DropBox, use Python as the programming language to build their softwares. Rossum also worked at Google and DropBox for some time. In 2006, he received the title of "Distinguished Engineer" from the ACM (Association for Computer Machinery). An interesting thing about him is that in the Python Community he is called the "Benevolent Dictator for Life" for creating Python.
